Stephen Colbert Rumored to Cameo in Hobbit Movies
That’s right. I bet you didn’t see that one coming. The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that a very reliable source has confirmed that Colbert will be making a brief cameo in one of the upcoming Hobbit movies. Which one, is still yet to be determined, however, it was confirmed that it would not be the first one, which is set to be released December 14th, 2012.
Colbert has always been vocal in being a “big fan” of Tolkien books and even hinted to the fact that he could be making a visit to Middle Earth during the time when The Hobbit movies were being shot. Colbert has confirmed that Jackson invited him out during shooting and was able to see a sneak peak at a 25-minute cut of the film.
Jackson danced around the question when asked whether or not the rumor was true. He said he had heard the rumor and that it has yet to be confirmed or denied at this point. Sounds fishy. What do you think? Are you hoping to see the talk show comedian in one of the movies?
In other news, those deciding to make an in person visit to Wellington anytime soon will be greeted by a 43 foot statue of Gollum in the Wellington airport (seen above). Wellington is doing all in its power to promote the upcoming movies and bring tourism to the country. There has been some opposition by government officials, claiming that so much change should not be done in order to cater to a small group of people. I am pretty sure many of our fans would disagree with that. At any rate, the statue itself looks pretty amazing.
