The Hobbit Movie – The Legend of J.R.R Tolkien
We cannot give tribute to some of the greatest films ever made without giving tribute to where it all started. J.R.R. Tolkien was an amazing English writer and poet who has created one of the strongest followings in literature history. The Hobbit (1936) and The Lord of the Rings (1945) were his most famous works. Now, over half a century later, his legacy is just as much alive as it was in his day.
In 2001, Peter Jackson, took his writings to film by bringing forth the epic trilogy of The Lord of the Rings to the big screen. It was a huge success and still ranks as 3 of the top 20 grossing films of all time. Jackson always gives tributes to the story’s creator, Mr. Tolkien.
In, 2008, many prayers were answered when Peter Jackson announced that he would begin the trek of creating The Hobbit for the big screen. The book will be shot in two separate full length feature films and will feature many of the same cast members as we saw in The Lord of the Rings. It is expected to be released in 2012.
Tolkien never intended for his early stories to be commercialized as he originally wrote them for his children. Now, he is considered as The Father of Fantasy and will go down as the most influential fantasy writer of all time. His stories continue to inspire people all over the world today and now we can enjoy them portrayed on the big screen.
