Hugo Weaving Spotted in New Zealand
Hugo Weaving (Elrond) is another actor who has been rumored but yet to be confirmed as an official cast member for The Hobbit. We have reported the great speculation and how indeed there have been talks on both sides, but still there remains nothing official.
Well, conveniently, The Nolder Blog reported that a trusted “spy” spotted Weaving in Wellington, New Zealand, the location of the Hobbit production set. This is what they reported:
About an hour ago I received news from one of my more reputable spies, and he has reported seeing Hugo Weaving here in Wellington this afternoon, shopping at Common Sense Organics, the fruit and vege market in Wakefield Street… it’s probably a bit too hasty to assume that he’s here to be in The Hobbit, but I can’t think of any other reason why he would come here right now, just when they’re discussing Rivendell scripts. It’s certainly not for the weather (it’s howling a cold southerly gale out there at the moment).
This would make a lot of sense, considering that only a few days ago, Peter Jackson publicly said during his Easter break that upon return they had “Rivendell Scenes Coming Up.” If this is the case, we may not hear official confirmations for roles of Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom for sometime now. We will keep you updated.
