Hobbit Filming To Begin Next Month

Peter Jackson

It is ironic that The Hobbit’s subtitle founded on the book is There and Back Again, because that is a perfect line to describe the ups and downs of production.  As we reported last week, The Hobbit was once again delayed due to an emergency surgery needed by Hobbit Director, Sir Peter Jackson.

The director has had some time to recover and is feeling much better and announced, “Despite some delays we are fully back on track and very excited to get started.”

Jackson also announced that filming would officially begin Monday, March 21.  Filming is set to take place in Stone Street Studios as well as on remote locations scouted by Jackson himself.

The big question is what new road blocks will for between now and March 21?  What do you think?  Is this really the beginning date or will the curse live on?

As anyone in the entertainment industry knows, there’s no better way to guarantee a kick-ass opening night than to launch it in the wake of a crappy string of dress rehearsals.

This is no curse. This is film. Welcome to it!
