Hobbit Cast Speaks
Last week, Hobbit movie cast members joined together and had a press conference to answer questions for media members who have been itching to get some time with them. Middle Earth veterans such as Ian Mckellen, Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, and Cate Blanchett were not present at the press conference, however, Martin Freeman, James Nesbitt, and Richard Armitage stole the show.
In response to a question about how Freeman feels about taking the cast of replacing Ian Holm as Bilbo, he said:
“Obviously I’ve been looking at what he was doing. There’s a certain level, of course, at which I have to match what he was doing and then forget it as well… Without being either big-headed or falsely modest, I think I’m quite a good match for him. I mean, I’ve seen worse matches… We’ll find out.”
Freeman was also asked if he was worried about a “Hobbit Curse”, due to recent events. He said:
“I’m not. I know what you mean. There are some bits of bad luck to do with it, I guess, that are almost comical, I suppose. But we’re all very optimistic about it. We’re all ready to go, just as soon as 2015 rolls around. We will be there and ready.”
Rob Kazinsky was being heckled about being the newest “Legolas” heart throb and responded by saying,
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, bearing in mind that we’re probably not going to look like Adonises.… We have to be good first.”
